OBITUARY.
MRS R. P. EDWARDS. The death occurred yesterday of Mrs Ellen Edwards, a highly respected resident of Palmerston North, at the age of 67 years. Mrs Edwards had been ailing for several months. Of a kindly disposition and greatly liked by all who came in contact with her, deceased will be sadly missed not only by her large family and numerous relatives, but also by a wide circle of intimate friends. The late Mrs Edwards was a daughter of the late Mr and Mrs C. Tricklebank, who arrived in New Zealand from England in the Oliver Lang over 75 years ago and settled at Johnsonville. Mrs Edwards was born in that town, later removing to Foxton and arriving in Palmerston North 53 years ago. Her marriage to Mr R. P. Edwards, who died seven years ago, took place in Palmerston North. Mrs Edwards spent the whole of her married life in Palmerston North. The family of the late Mrs Edwards who are left to mourn their loss are Messrs F. C., G. P., A. T.. H. J.. H. R. Edwards (Wellington), W. J. Edwards (Palmerston North), R. P. Edwards (Dannevirke), F. L. Edwards (Auckland) and A. H. Edwar.ds (Hamilton), and Mesdame.s J. L. Carter (Silverdale, Auckland), S. J. Smith (Palmerston North), R G. Scott (Palmerston North). H. L. Vincent (Te Awamutu) and C. T. Hall (Palmerston No r th). There are 14 grandchildren and one great-grand-daughter. Two brothers, residing at Auckland and Hastings, survive, also five sisters, two of whom are in Australia, two in Wellington and one in Palmerston North. One of the sisters, Mrs F. Overend. of Wellington, is a well-known member of the Wellington Old Identities Association.
