RANGIOTU
(From Our Own Correspondent.) RANGIOTU, July 1. Tlio ball held under tho auspices of the local Hall Society on Tuesday evening proved to be a most pleasant function. Owing to counter attractions the attendance was not quite so largo as expected; nevertheless, tho committee and promoters aro to bo congratulated upon their keen and untiring efforts. Tho hall was attractively decorated, the overhead decorations of tho blue and gold streamers giving an effective display of colours, while the walls wero tastefully adorned and arranged w'th an abundance of native greenery. !?!•- lightful music was provided by a professional orchestra, while extras were given by Mrs Mora and Messrs G. Millard and W. Larkins. Tho splendid supper arrangements wero in tho capable chargo of tho Ladies’ Committee. Features of the evening’s programme were exhibitions of tap and ballet dancing given by a bevy of young girls from Miss Gwenth MaoNaughton’s school of dancing. Miss Eileen Robson was seen to great advantage in tho opening song and dance number, while a second tap ballet number won them well merited applause. As a final number Miss Sheila Wlutehouse gave a difficult solo tap danco which was also well received by the interested onlookers. Just prior to tho final stages of
the programme being reached, Mr D. G. Moore, on behalf of tho committee, ihanked all present for their patronage and also extended thanks to Miss MacXaughton and her pupils for the entertaining programme provided by them, thereby materially assisting to make the evening’s function a most pleasant one.
