BRITISH MURDER CASE.

LONDON, July 1

A verdict of murder against an education officer named Lewis, aged 60, was returned by the coroner after an inquiry into the death of Airs Lewis and her daughter Freda, whose bodies were found buried beneath a pond tit their home in Belvedere, Kent, on May 30. A doctor gave evidence to the effect that the women had been poisoned, and the coroner pointed out that Lewis had bought poison in April, the crime evidently having been premeditated for some considerable time. Lewis boarded a Leith-bound steamer at Wapping the night before the bodies were found. A splash was heard early in the evening, and an hour’s search proved unavailing. His identity was established by laundrymarks on his clothes.
