OFFICIAL DOCUMENTS RELEASED CO R RESPONDENCE WITH GOVERNOR. POLITICAL SCANDAL. (United Press Association. —By Electric Telegraph.—Copyright.) SYDNEY, July 1. The fact has leaked out that the reason prompting the Governor, Sir Philip Game, to suggest a Round Table Conference of political parties was that tlio Premier, Mr J. T. Lang, had indirectly hinted for sufficient political appointments to tlio Upper House to enable him to carry his legislation. Sir Philip refused the request and suggested alternatively a Round Table Conference, which the Caucus rejected. The incident is now responsible for another political scandal, which originated in the Legislative Assembly today, when Mr T. R. Bavin, Leader of the Opposition, asked Mr Lang whether he would produce in the House the correspondence which passed between himself and the Governor.
Mr Lang replied that he had no objection and would ascertain whether His Excellency would give his permission.
The Governor freely assented, with the result that Mr Lang to-night released not only the correspondence associated with this incident, but also the whole correspondence and some confidential documents which passed between Mr Bavin when Premier and the Governor, relating to recommendations for honours.
