EARTHQUAKE TREMORS.
ALARAI AT AVAIROA. Fer Press Association. AVAIROA, April 22. A severe shock of earthquake was experienced this morning at about 11.12 o’clock, greatly alarming the residents. SEVERE AT AVAIPUKURAU. Per Press Association. AVAIPUKURAU, April 22. A severe earthquake shock was experienced at about 11.12 o’clock this morning. The people hurriedly left buildings and rushed into tile streets and open places. Children promptly evacuated the schools. No damage has been reported. Clocks stopped, overhead wires rocked and buildings creaked ominously. The residents of AA’aipawa were also alarmed, but no damage is reported. AT DANNEVIRKE. Per Press Association. DANNEVIRKE, April 22. A jolting earthquake at about five o’clock yesterday was followed by .a severe disturbance at 11.12 o'clock today, being of sufficient strength to cause many people hurriedly to leave buildings. No damage is reported. FAIRLY SEVERE AT NAPIER. Per Press Association. NAPIER. April 22. A fairly severe shake was felt this morning. A few partly-demolished walls fell, but no damage is reported. The chief concern of the residents seemed to he anxiety as to the effects elsewhere.
