RAILWAY SERVANTS.
PRESIDENT RE-ELECTED. (By Telegraph.—Special to Standard.) WELLINGTON, April 22. Mr James Churchouse, the retiring president of the Amalgamated Society of Railway Servants, has been reappointed on a national ballot under preferential voting. Mr Mcllvride, the returning officer, reports on the voting as follows : —First count, Mr Churchouse 3143, Mr M. Connelly 2479, Mr S. Schofield 898. On a distribution of Mr Schofield’s preferences the final result was: Mr Churchouse 3671, Mr Connelly 2811; majority for Mr Churchouse 860.
