MORE SPEED DESIRED. NEW TYPE OF ’PLANE. BRITAIN CALLS TENDERS. (United Press Association —By Electric Telegraph—Copyright). Received April 11, 9.10 a.m. LONDON, April 10. The Evening News states that the Air Ministry has called tenders for a new type of high speed mail-carrying aeroplane, which will be used to speed up the air mail services to India, Australia and South Africa. . . The specification includes a cruising speed of 150 miles an hour and a top speed of 180 miles. AUSTRALIAN MAIL AT BAGDAD. Received April 11, 9.10 a.m. BAGDAD, April 16.
