SEAMEN FINED.

Per Press Association. AUCKLAND, Feb. 20. Two seamen who wore caught looting after the big fire in Hobson Street on Monday were convicted to-day of stealing five pairs of shoes. They pleaded that they had been instructed by firemen to assist' in the salvaging.

Owen Mulholland was sentenced to three months’ imprisonment. Godfrey John Green was fined £5, or two months’ imprisonment.
