FLIGHT TO SOUTHERN PERU. VIEW OF VOLCANO. LIMA, Feb. 15. The Prince of Wales, Prince George and their entourage left at noon today in a tri-motored aeroplane, and arrived at Arequipa, their destination, four and a half hours later. They, will spend several days in the Southern Peruvian regions. The Prince of Wales saw one of the grandest volcanoes of the Peruvian Andes en route from Lima. The aeroplane, before landing, circled over Mount Misti. The Prince was greeted at the landing field by the Prefect of the Department of Arequipa, the Mayor of the city, and the British Consul. Thousands were present. The Prince replied to a speech of welcome by the Mayor in Spanish, greatly delighting those gathered on the Porongogoche field where the ’plane landed. Later the Princes motored to Arequipa and, at the City Hall, were given the freedom of the city by the Mayor. Later they received greetings from the British colony.
