ANNUAL GENERAL MEETING

Tlie annual general meeting of the Manawatu Scottish Society (Hie.) was held last evening when Mr J. B Cooper presided over a large attendance. The president (Mr J. Raleigh) sent an apology for his unavoidable absence. report) already published in the “Standard,” and the financial statement, revealing a credit balance of £l2B 13s Id, were adopted. The election of officers for the ensuing year resulted as follows: President, Mr J. B. Cooper; vice-presi-dents, Messrs J. Walker and J. Glendinning; secretary, Mr W- Salmmi; treasurer, Mr T. A. Hibell; ladies committee, Misses B. Young, and I. Skinner and Mrs H. Dencli; general committee. Messrs J. S. Jenkinson, T. Inglis, W. Allen, and J. Raleigh; auditor, Mr K. S. Glendinning; honorary pipers, Messrs W. E. Smith, Iv. Godbaz and L. A. Couch; accompaniste, Miss Skinner. The proposed alterations to the society’s rules were referred back to the committee for consideration. It was resolved that the Inglesides continue to be held on Wednesday nights and that the prices of admission remain the same. Votes of thanks to the outgoing committee (together with a vote of confidence), the chairman and 'the Press concluded tlie meeting.
