KING’S HOME LIFE.

A CHARMING GLIMPSE.

Received January 5, 9.15 a.m

LONDON, Jan. 3. A charming glimpse of the King’s home life was given by Mr J. H. Thomas in a speech at Newport. Mr Thomas was referring to a New l’ear visit to Sandringham and stated: “The feature which impressed me most was when I was granted an audience with the King on State affairs. The Queen entered with the little Princess Elizabeth and asked: ‘YVould you mind ? YVe want the Princess to wish grandpa goodnight.’ How human and natural and similar to YYhen the grandchildren come to the King he is no longer a king —just a grandfather like mvself.”
