Mr A. M. Baird, a middle-aged restaurantqur, was assaulted and robbed of two days’ takings, amounting to £6B, at about 1.30 o’clock on New Year’s morning. He went home in a taxi, in which two other men were passengers. All left) the taxi at Mr Baird’s gate and he wished the qihers a happy New Year.
