FOXTON
(From Our Own Correspondent.) FOXTON, Dec. 5. Owing to a lack of support there is * possibility of the Lunch Club ceasing operations. This announcement was made at the monthly meeting on Thursday by the chairman (Mr D. Christie). Miss E. Owen, of Wellington, who has been visiting her parents, Mr and Mrs R. Owen, of Foxton, has returned to Wellington. In the recent electrical examinations held in Wellington. Mr A. Henskie, son of Mr and Mrs F. A. Henskie, of Avenue Road, passed his examination with high honours.
The Manawatu Licensing Committee met yesterday, Mr J. L. Stout presiding. Also present were Messrs J. K. Hornblow, J. Walker and J. Curran. A transfer of the license of the Grand Hotel, Levin, from Mr P. Barry to Mr H. Dooly was granted and the transfer of the Manawatu Hotel, Foxton, from Mr M. O’Malley to Mr F. C. Pracy approved. The proficiency examinations was held at the District High School yesterday when pupils were present from Rangiotu, Bainesse, Oroua Downs, the Convent and Moutoa.
