Per Press Association,

CHRISTCHURCH, Sept. 22. “The situation at Lake Coleridge is well in hand and I am satisfied that a crisis will not occur now,” declared Mr R.. G. Mac Gibbon, district electrical engineer, in addressing members of the Harbour Board to-day. Mr Mac Gibbon said that the level of the lake was steady, and rain, must come within the next few weeks. However, restrictions must continue -in the meantime until the lake recovered.
