DEATH OF YOUTH.

FATAL END TO GAME. Per Press Association. GISBORNE, Sept. 17. An inquest was opened this afternoon on Joseph Arthur Parker, aged 16, who died under an anaesthetic at a private hospital. The boy’s father gave evidence to the effect that the previous evening his son was at home playing with his sister. The girl, chased by her brother, ran along the hall, and as she fan slammed the hall door behind her. In an attempt to stop himself the lad put his hand through the glass, severing the ligaments. He was removed to a private hospital, where an operation was performed, but the boy passed away under the anaesthetic. Deceased enjoyed good health. The inquest was adjourned until September 25. •
