Received August 16, 11.0 a.m. SYDNEY, Aug. 16., The State Premier, Mr T. R. Bavin, made an appeal last evening for Federal and State co-6peration for solving Australia’s financial problems. Mr Bavin said:— “If the present crisis is to he met, it is imperative that a definite binding agreement should be arrived at by the Governments of the Commonwealth and States for the adoption of a common policy. “I cannot refrain from expressing the hope that Mr Scullin will not take his departure until definite and effective arrangements have been made for meeting the situation. “There is no need for panic, and no reason to doubt that our difficulties can be met and overcome.” A financial conference of Premiers and Treasurers is being held at Melbourne to-day.
