GENERAL FORECAST. Pressure is low over Southern Australia, tlie Tasman Sea, and the New Zealand area. A depression of slight intensity is centred over tho North Island. Winds mainly moderate and variable, with southerly to westerly prevailing. Seas generally smooth to moderate in New Zealand waters. Aloderato south-west to west winds and moderate seas in the eastern Tasman Sea. Weather mainly fair in Westland and the interior of the South Island; elsewhere still cloudy and misty, with scattered rain. Temperature - moderate. DISTRICT REPORT. FAIR TO CLOUDY CONDITIONS.
The Government meteorologist wired to-day : —Tho indications are for moderate southerly winds, later, backing by south to west. There is a prospect of fair to cloudy weather. Barometer rising slowly. MANAWATU RIVER GAUGE. Noon. —9ft 9ins.
