FRIENDLY SOCIETIES.
COURT HINEMOA. The fortnightly meeting of Court Hinemoa, A.0.F., No. 9209, was held in the Foresters’ Hall on Monday evening. The C.R., Sister D. Fitzsimons, presided over a large attendance of members including the brothers of Court Manawatu and brethren from other courts in the district. An invitation was accepted from court Manawatu to attend their next meeting and social committee meeting to be held on Monday. The installation of officers took place, P.C.R’s. Sisters Cowling and M. Hancox being the installing officers. Two candidates were initiated into the court and order, and one proposed for membership. At the conclusion of tho meeting the usual installation social was held. The toast list was as follows:—The King, proposed by C.R. Sister V. Smellie; /The Wellington District,” proposed by Sister G. Underwood, responded to by P.C.R. Bro. C. Edwards; “Court Hinemoa,” proposed by P.C.R. Bro. P. Burns, responded to by C.R. Sister V. Smellie, ‘Ukmrt Manawatu,” proposed by P.C.R. Sister O. Rosanowski, responded $o by C.R. Bro. W. Rogers; “Newly Installed Officers,” proposed bv P.C.R. Sister Cowling, responded to by the newly installed officers; “Other Courts,” proposed by P.C.R. Sister Stevens, responded to by representatives of other court^; “Our Secretary, proposed by P.C.R. Sister D. Fitzsimons, responded to by Sister G. Underwood; “Custodian,” proposed by P.C.R. Sister M. Hancox, responded to by P.C.R. Bro. F. Holgerson; “The Press,” proposed by P.C.R. Bro. M. Rosanowski, responded to by P.C.R. Bro. F. Holgerson. Items were rendered by the following;—Songs, P.C.R. Bro. M. Rdsanowski, Bros. T. Bradley and J. Kinsella; piano solo. Sister N. Tucker; recitations, Sister E;' Spicers; P.C.R’s. Bro. Dryden, A. H. Rogers, M. Rosanowski; piano duet, Bros. T. Bradley and F. Gedson; guitar solo, P.C.R. Sister D. Fitzsimons. At the conclusion of the toast list the remainder of the evening was spent in dancing, and the singing of “Auld Lang Syne” ended a very happy evening. Dance music was rendered by Bros. T. Bradley and F. Gedson.
