AUSTRALIAN PREFERENCE. VANCOUVER, June 22. So pleased are British Columbia lumbermen with tlio Australian extension of preference on sawn lumber that a resolution of appreciation is likely to be proposed when the Legislature meets. Mr A. E. Munn, a former member of the Legislature, who is now a candidate for the House of Commons, stated to-day that it was very encouraging to see Australia following Canada in extending Empire preference. The placing of Canadian cedar on the same basis as California redwood was especially welcome, but an extension of preference on cedar was also hoped for.
