TORRENTIAL RAIN.
FURTHER FLOODING FEARED
SYDNEY, June 22. Torrential rain this morning revives fears of further floods. A break in the weather during the last two days had brought about a rapid fall in tho inundations, and people had commenced to return to their sodden homes to make a fresh start. Some probably will noiv bo driven out again. From Maitland town a brown- sea extends for fifteen miles in one direction and spreads over a wide area laterally. As most of the churches in Maitland are flooded, a combined service is being held this evening in the Anglican Church. A woman refugee sheltering in the Town Hall gave birth to a baby yesterday afternoon. Thieves have been visiting flooded houses temporarily abandoned, removing articles of value in boats. Tho floods have caused a restriction in Sydney’s milk supply, which is being rationed in some suburbs. A special train from the South Coast will relieve the situation by tapping new sources.
