MUSSOLINI’S SPEECH.
FRENCH COMMENT. PARIS, May 19. The Journal des Debats describes the speech Signor Mussolini delivered at Florence as the most bellicose harangue heard during peace time in the present century. In the course of a speech at a Fascists’ gathering, Signor Mussolini said that Italy’s friendship was precious, but her enimity was hard. More important than his speech that day were the big and machine-guns. The Duce continued: “There aro people who think they can isolate Italy, and who would not be averse to starting war against the Italian people, even through the territory of a third power. We await them at the crossing. Though words are beautiful things, machine-guns, ships, and aeroplanes are still more beautiful. Right is a vain word unless it be accompanied by might.”
