BALL TO BE HELD.
BY SHOW ASSOCIATION. “Are we to have an annual ball this year? If so, we had better get busy,” stated Air G. Alabin at the monthly meeting of the general committee of the Manawatu A", and P. Association to-day. “I notice that you are addressing me. so I suppose that I will have to answer,” observed the chairman (Air L. B. Wall). “We held one last year, but it was not a success financially. Thero was a disappointing attendance.” Endorsing the statement of the chairman Air J. A. Nash, ALP., said that only eight members of the committee were present. “We had better hold a race club ball on August 1,” commented Air L. H. Coll in son. “Nothing was wanting except the crowd at the last function,” said the chairman. “People in the town were surprised that it was as good as it was,” commented Air J. F. Carter. “Despite the disaster so far as the attendance at the last ball was concerned.” said Air J. Linklater, ALP., “I shall do everything to push it along, hut let members be present with their families.” The committee decided that the ball be held, preferably in July, and a committee was set up to go into the matter.
