Heavy damage was caused in the south coast districts during the weekend by torrential rains. Watercourses were flooded, several bridges swept away, farm flooded and a number of landslides. At Bald Knob, thirteen inches fell in 24 hours. The great northern road is impassable, the river being seven feet over the bridges at Mooloolali. The Obi Valley is flooded, and the bridge over the Obi River lias been swept away. The water there is the highest for thirty years. Telephone posts and fencing have been washed away. A cloudburst at Sandy Creek caused much damage to crops and business premises. WARNINGS IN NEW SOUTH WALES. SYDNEY, May 11. Rains have become more general throughout the State, and the north coast rivers threaten trouble. Flood warnings have been issued in towns along the Tweed, Richmond, and Clarence River areas. A number of centres report over four inches of rain, which is still falling. In the western districts useful falls have been recorded. Seas along the north coast are stormy, and shipping is delayed.
