BOWLING.

TAKARO CLUB’S FUNCTION. A progressive rinks tourney to mark the closuig of the season was held on Saturday on the Takaro Bowling Club’s green, four games of five heads being played. The time limit was 45 minutes. Commencing at 1.15 p.m., play was continued till the late afternoon, the competition being keenly enjoyed by all who participated. The four silver medals, offered as the first prize to the winning rink, were won by Newth, Just, Child and J. Morgan (skip). The second prize was won, after the play-off by Knowles, Wilson, Wilkinson, Sparrow (skip). Wins were secured by the various skips as follow-.—Morgan 4, Tantrum, Sparrow, Christiansen 3. Tealo, Corbridge, Kershaw 2, Kirk, Palmer 1, Morshead 4 losses. The trophies were presentd by Mr R. Tanner, who declared the season closed.
