FIRE AT WAITARA.

GARAGE AND VEHICLES DESTROYED. Per Press Association. NEW PLYMOUTH, May 11. A motor garage at Waitara was destroyed bv fire on Saturday night, and with it seven heavy motor-lorries, one valuable car and one motor-cycle, iho owner, Mr E. A. Johnson, estimates the damage at between £SOOO and £6OOO, some of which is covered by insurance. The fire was a spectacular one, being visible for miles. Jhe benzine tank of one lorry exploded, and the pieces of it fell a considerable distance away. One piece narrowly missed Mrs Johnson when it fell on her lawn.
