Sir Hubert Wilkins and Mr Simotl Lake, the inventor, who is co-operat-ing in the famous Australian explorer’s Arctic trip, called upon the Acting-Secretary of the Navy, Mr Jahncke, to inquire as to the possibility of arranging for the loan of an obsolete navy submarine, but they received little encouragement.
