DRAMATIC ART.
AY.E.A. READING CIRCLE. The keen interest in the AV.E.A. Reading Class was indicated last evening by the large gathering present at the Oroua Hall, when Mrs S. Bennett occupied the chair. The class last evening read Shaw’s “John Bull’s Other IsLand,” and it intends also to do “Major Barbara” and “Alan of Destiny,'’ both wellknown works from the pen of this renowned playwright. The long caste of “Jolm Bull’s Other Island” gave ample opportunity for tho members of the class to Cake part, but owing to the time taken in reading the piece, there was no discussion on the work at the conclusion, as is customary. Those who took the principal parts wero. Messrs Davidson, Summerville, Bennett, Christensen, Zohrab, McKay, Edwards, Grimshaw, Dr. McDowell, Miss L. Teal© and Mrs Bristow. Great interest is being displayed by file members of the class in the plays now being studied, and it is felt that tho class is growing more popular with lovers of dramatic art owing to the fact that each night of play reading draws in new members.
