CABINET MEETINGS
3 P-M. EDITION
USUAL PRELIMINARY. HEAVY LEGISLATIVE PKOGRAMME. (By Telegraph.—Special to Standard.) WELLINGTON, May 9. Tho series of full Cabinet meetings at Rotorua next week constitute the usual preliminary to the approaching session which, it can. be assumed, will open about tho third week in June. Most of the Ministers have a number of legislative proposals, some of which involve important policy decisions, which are subject to review by the whole Cabinet. The Estimates for the current year’s expenditure are to bo submitted and revised in line with the Finance Minister’s policy. It is also probable that the plans for New Zealand’s representation at the Imperial Conference will be discussed. The Prime Minister’s health is steadily improving, and his colleagues anticipate that he will take his usual place in the House when the session opens. There are indications that the legislative programme will be heavy.
