PROBABLE RETIREMENT. Received Mav 9, 10.5 a.m. London, May s. It is understood that Mr Ben Turner, Under-Secretary for Mines, will shortly retire from the Ministry, and that he will be succeeded by Major A. T. Lee or Mr Vernon Hartshorn, both members of the Simon Commission. It is rumoured that Mr Noel Buxton, who is a member of the Cabinet, and holds the portfolio of Agriculture and Fisheries, has been designated to an important Colonial post out which will soon be becoming vacant.
