HIGH SCHOOL BOOKS.

At the last meeting of , the High School Board of Governors, a sub-com-mittee reported on the question of text books used in the Bovs’ High School and Girls’ High School. The sub-com-mittee had met the rector and lady principal and recommended that the rector and lady principal confer annually prior to the selection of text books for the year, with a view, firstly, that uniformity be attained in the books used by the two schools; secondly, that changes in text books be minimised; thirdly, that where two text books are of equal merit, the cheaper be selected; and, fourthly, that the Boys’ High School extend its system of selling used books. The rector and lady principal concurred with the report, which was adopted.
