MONKEY ESCAPES FROM ZOO.

AUCKLAND, April 16. A small monkey which escaped from the Auckland Zoo bn Monday night was recaptured yesterday afternoon in Morningside. ■ The animal, which was not was confined in a small enclosure by a leather strap attached to a post, and during the night it chewed the strap through. At about, noon it was seen by a woman, who lives in Morningside, and the Zoo officials were informed. They had little difficulty in capturing the animal with a net on the end of a long pole.
