THE EASTER VACATION
FIXTURES DURING HOLIDAYS. •’ MANY SPORTS GATHERINGS. f The Easter vacation begins tomorrow (Good Friday) and will extend, over the week-end, including Monday* which will bo observed as a general holiday. Numerous attractions have been arranged, particularly in the field of sport. For some days the bowling green* will be in full session, as the Manawatu . Centre will bo conducting its annual tournament, for which entries have been received from numerous visiting rinks. Followers of tho royal and ancient game will find particular attraction in the Manawatu Golf Club s tournament. Players with high qualifications will be engaged. With the advent of the Rugby season, a number of teams will don their jerseys for comoetition, and on Saturday morning the Kia Toa team will meet Wanganui Pirates at the bhowgrounds. During. Easter a.n Association football tournament will be inducted by St. Andrews Club. The country clubs athletic championships are set down for, decision at the bportsground on Saturday. . ■ , Patrons of the turf will be in attendance at the Feilding Jockey Club 8 Jubilee race meeting on Saturday and Monday. Good fields are engaged at this popular fixture. M .. On Monday the Palmerston North. •Showgrounds will be the venue tor the Caledonian sports, fof which large entries' have been received. During the Easter holidays members of the Manawatu Tramping Club w*|» make a visit to Mount Egmont. *
