MINISTER OF WORKS.

MOVEMENTS DURING EASTER. The Minister of Public Works, Hon. E. A- Ransom, who yesterday inspected the area involved in the modified flood control scheme of the ManawatuOroua River Board, passed through Palmerston North late in the afternoon en route to Wanganui, where he stayed overnight. To-day he* proceeded to Patea and Hawera. He was expected to arrive at New Plymouth to-night, and he will spend Easter at the Taranaki centre, the Minister has arranged to meet various deputations there. Mr Hansom will probably return to Wellington via Palmerston North on Tuesday night, and efforts are being made by the Manawatu-Orqua River Board to arrange a . further meeting with him on that day.
