CHILDREN’S BEHAVIOUR.
CLINIC AT AUCKLAND. ADVICE TO PARENTS. (By Telegraph —Special to Standard.) AUCKLAND, April 15. Under the Mental Defectives Board, a beginning has now been made 1 n Auckland with the establishment of a clinic for the examination of children. Dr. B. D. Hart, the psychiatrist, is at the head of the clinic and he has Miss G. Watkins, of Wellington, assodated with him as social service worker. Arrangements are being made to secure a psychologist from the Department of Education to add to the staff. Negotiations for permanent offices to serve as headquarters for the clinic are in progress. Any persian may then refer to the clinic for advice about any child whose behaviour presents difficulty, apart from whether or not the child shows signs of mental deficiency. The essential aim of the work of tire clinic is preventive and it is hoped by its means to prevent delinquency by dealing with the root causes of ’he trouble. "--"v? ' '-’j. ;
