SUMMER SPORT.
NORTHERN CLUB. A meeting of tho Northern , Bowling, Tennis and Croquet Club was held at the pavilion, North Street, last night, Mr P. S. Larcomb presiding. The secrotary reported a healthy credit balanco at tho bank and it was decided to carry out some important improvements as soon as tho season closed. Theßq include the completion of two additional grass tennis courts, topdressmg .of all greens, metalling of paths and drainage. , Votes of thanks woro accorded Messrs McKeo and' Parkes for the work done by them in tho beautifying of tho flower beds and borders during the present year. It was decided to hold over the question of painting the pavilion until a .later date as it is possiblo that,an extension to the building may be made. The club will close its greens for the season on Wednesday, 30tn April. . As the Northern green is not being used for the centre Easter tournament, the club will be pleased to welcome members of tho town clubs on Good Friday, Satur* day and Monday. It is possiblo a P** ra or rinks tournament will no held on faster Monday. ** „ • ; ■ r ,
