COLYTON.
(From Our Own Correspondent.) r COLYTON, April 14. On Wednesday night the combined ladies’ and men’s hockey clubs held their opening dance in the Colyton Hall. There was a splendid attendance and a vory pleasant night was spent. An orchestra supplied the music. while extras were contributed by Miss Linklater. Supper was sorved in the supper room by the lady members. Messrs W. Hocken and K. Viles acted as M.’sC.
On Saturday afternoon tho Colyton hockey clubs played a friendly match, tho “B” team winning by 6 goals to 5. It was a vory enjoyable game and afterwards Mr and Mrs H. Hocken, presidents for both teams, entertained all the players to afternoon tea.
The many friends bf Mrs C. Wilson, of Colyton, wili regret to learn that she is an inmate of the Palmerston North Hos-l pital suffering from a' serious illness. Colyton residents learnt with, deep regret of the sudden death of Mr A. L. Melville, of Turakina. Mr Melville was well known in’ this district and the sympathy of his many friends here will bo extended to his relatives in thoir sad bereavement.
