SPEED RECORD.

KAYE DON’S PLANS. NEW YORK, April 11. Mr Kaye Don denies a report thai he has given up attempts on the motor speed record at Daytona Beach, but there is a well defined feeling here that yesterday’s attempt was liis last for the season. Mr Don has booked liis return passage on the Aquitania for April 16, and it is understood that a conference will be held to-night, at which Mr Don will be requested to state his exact intentions' before interested persons. Mr Warren Baker, the course steward and representative of tho American Automobile Association, stated: “I am ready to assume full responsibility for keeping Mr Don off the beach since he himself inspected the beach and ruled it unsafe.” Asked if ho proposed to make another attempt to-morrow, Mr Don replied: “I have been waiting for a good beach for ages. The car is ready, but I will not stay here until Christmas. I have a party at homo then.”
