WESTRALIA ELECTIONS. ANOTHER NEW GOVERNMENT. FOURTH IN SHORT PERIOD. (United Press Association—By Electric Telegraph—Copyright). Received April 14, 11.0 a.m. PERTH, April 14. The State elections, which were held on Saturday, passed off quietly. One hundred and five candidates went to the polls. Tho Labour Party has been defeated. The latest counting gives the combined anti-Labour forces at least 26 seats. Tho state of the parties is as follows: — Labour 22 Nationalist 17 Country Party ... 9 Independent Country Party ... 1 Doubtful 1 Mr Thomson, Leader- of the Country Party, lost the Katanning seat. The Collier Administration had been in power for six years. ' This is the fourth Australian Government to be turned out of office since the Bruce-Page Federal Government failed on the arbitration issue. Mr Davy, Deputy-leader of the Opposition, lias been elected. Those members returned unopposed included tho Premier; Mr Philip Collier, and eight other Labour members, one Nationalist and one Country Party. On the first count, Miss May Holman is apparently re-elected for Forrest, but Miss Bromliam has again been defeated in Claremont. These were the only women candidates. POSITION IN SOUTH AUSTRALIA. ADELAIDE, April 13. The election count now shows that Mr M. Macintosh, Commissioner of Works, retains his seat, but Mr G. F. Jenkins, Minister of Local Government, has been defeated. Labour now has 30 seats, tho Liberals 12, and the Country Party two. Two seats in the Flinders district are still doubtful. The Butler Ministry will resign on Monday, and the Labour Party will meet on Wednesday to select a Cabinet.
