POPPY DAY APPEAL.
PROCEEDS TOTAL £225; A very satisfactory response was made to this year’s Poppy Day appeal in Palmerston North on Saturday,, the proceeds totalling approximately £225. Last year’s,figure was £206. GISBORNE RETURNS. * Per Prees Association. GISBORNE, April 13. Poppy Day was held by the Gisborne R.S.A. yesterday in unfavourable weather, rain falling at intervals, down sales totalled £205, and country returns are expected to bring the total to £340, compared with £250 last year. •
