However, after to-night’s exhibition, Morgan will cease to be a draw in Hastings. . Though the disqualification came in the fourth round, Bloom was unfortunate in not getting the verdict in the first round, and then later in tho third round, on fouls. Morgan gave a sorry exhibition, and provided the biggest disappointment for many seasons. He packs a terrible punch but when it comes to a forcing fight he loses control of himself, and commits his rash actions. One is indeed sorry that such a promising’ career as his appeared to be should be so blemished. Bloom entered the ring at 9st. 12ilb. and Morgan lOst. The opening round generally was a warm-up, though Morgan was endeavouring to bring his uppercut into action. In the second round Morgan rushed matters from the *tart, but was stopped short with a solid right hook that jerked his head back with a jolt, Bloom effectively blocking Morgan s straight right. His tricky- footwork gave Morgan no opportunity to ram home a left to the jaw. The third round saw Morgan make Bloom s body a punching bag and he administered a series ■•’of right and left hooks to the ribS He was warned for hitting low. Bloom retaliated with whirlwind right and left swings. Morgan’s head stopped four stinging blows before he could step out of danger.
