LABOURER KILLED.
STRUCK BY LIMB OF TREE. FATALITY NEAR MARTON. . (By Telegraph—Special to Standard.) MARTON, April 11. John Thomas O’Shaughnessy, aged 20, a labourer w'lioso parents reside in Marton, was killed while felling trees on the farm of Mr F. It. Nitechke, on the Pukepapa Road, about three miles from Marton, this morning. , Deceased and a companion, William Dudley Willis, had felled one tree and were splitting it into posts, when the limb of a blue gum, which had been previously struck by the fallen tree, crashed and struck Mr O’Shaugbnessy on the head. Death is believed to have been instantaneous.
