DAMAGE TO TRUCK. VALVE PARTS REMOVED. Following alleged interference with a motor truck, Hughie James Trask appeared before Mr J. L. Stout, S.M., in the Magistrate’s Court to-day charged with committing mischief by wilfully damaging on February 16 two valve cups and cock nuts, two valve insides and two spark plug wires, of a total value of 4s 6d, the property of Oswill Wolfsbauer. Sergeant Hill said that complainant left his truck near liis house one night and next morning found it had been interfered with and parts thrown away in a paddock. Defendant was the eldest of a trio concerned. It cost 9s 6d to put the machine in order again. “This was a senseless prank,” commented Mr A. J. McLeavey, who' appeared for defendant. He said that the latter had apologised to complainant two days after the offence and offered to pay for the dajnage. Defendant was fined £2, with 10s costs, and ordered to make good" the damage. In the event of failure to pay the magistrate said he would fix a default.
