Nurse Rogerson, who has been relieving Nurse Sell in Otaki for the past month, leaves to-night for Dargaville. During the nurse’s brief stay in Otaki she has proved an untiring worker and has mado many friends, all of whom will wish her well in her new, sphere in the north. Nurse Rogerson stayed at Longburn last night. At the mooting of settlers at Hautero last night Mr R. Hagan pointed out that there was a danger of the water-races collapsing and leaving settlers without water. Ho considered that the races went through bad country, and that expenditure was increasing. He thought the remedy would be to pipe, especially as at present the races did not pay for their upkeep. He thought that at least six or seven chains should be piped and made secure for all time. Mr Hagan said that ho was willing to get a petition so that tho matter might be given attention. •At the Otaki S.M. Court yesterday W. S. Death (Mr Ongley) claimed from D. D. Hyde (Mr O’Leary) the sum of £4O 12s 6d for damages sustained in a motorcar accident. Mr Hyde counter-claimed £ls.
