NARROW ESCAPE.

FAMILY IN BURNING HOUSE. Per Press Association. NEW PLYMOUTH, April 4. , A farmer and his wife and three children had a narrow escape from being burned to death last night when a nine-roomed house on Smart Road, about a mile from the Waiwakaiho Bridge, New Plymouth, was burned to the ground. The house was owned by Mr I- A. Soinervail and occupied by Mr F. Dent and family. The occupants of the house had retired to bed early, and at ten o’clock were awakened by a fire at the rear of the house. The children had to be passed out of the front windows, and the spread of the flames was so rapid that nothing was saved. The furniture was insured for £i7o. j. ; ■;
