KUMEROA DOG TRIALS. (From Our Own Correspondent.) WOODVILLE, April 4. Tho weather was again perfect for the Kumcroa Dog trials, and thcro was a good attendance. Tho hiuitaWay (open) was completed in tho morning, and local classes commenced. The following .arc tho rosults of tho liuntaway class, which was run over a rathor tricky course, and also the successful winners of the various cups and trophies:— _ ; Huntaways, open, Ist £l2, 2nd £4 3rd £2, 4th £1 —T. Harvey’s “Max” (Waitahora) 31 points 1; W. Whyto’s “Clydo” (Napier), 30, 2; ,T; Morgan’s “Rock” (Kumcroa) 29, 3; T. Morgan’s “Popper” (Kumcroa) 24, 4; W. Pringlo’s “Jock” (Ori'ngi) 19, 5. The J. D, Ramsdon Cup for Class II a (maiden) went to J. S. Tait’s “Nell,” .of Dannovirke. For Class 111, the cup donated by Messrs Williams and Kottlo, was won by Fred Tong of Napier, with “Joe.” In the Huntaway class, the K 1 C. Miller Cup was won by T. Harvey’s 1 “Max” (Waitahora). The' Alfred Ramsdon Cup (most points in Classes 111 and IV) was -won by W. Whyte's “Boy" in Glass 111 and “Clyde” in class IV. Tho R. J. McDonald Cup for best team of dogs in Classes, I, 111, and,lV, was annexed by T. J. Morgan’s “Fyfe,” “Fleet” and “Rock’.’ in their respective classes. W. Conisbce’s “Tweed” and ■“Jim” secured the R: J. Smith Cup for W. Conisbco (Kunieroa). ' Mr W. Dunford’s trophy for best maiaon dog •in Woodvillo County . was awarded to T. Morgan’s “Popper.” GENERAL. - A most erijoyablc’garden party was held at tho residence of Mr and Mrs' J. S; Nob son at Papatawa this afternoon, by rriembors of the Ladies’ Guild of Holy Trinity Church, Woodville. Mrs Nelson proved an admir-' ablo hostess, and did everything, possiblo to ensure the enjoyment of her numerous guests. Various games and competitions wore engaged in, and afternoon,, tea was served. Tno Plunket Society's euchre and dance, hold in' tho Forestors' Hall on Wednesday proved mbst ''successful, there being a fair ■ attendance of cuchro players and dancers. A number of old time dances wero indulged in, and wore greatly enjoyed by tho older folk. Music was contributed by-Mcsdamo3 J. S. Nelson and R. R. Johnston, and Mr C. Meredith. The euchre' competition resulted .in Mrs Morgan and Miss Burlaco and Messrs Wareham and Ware securing the honours.
