THE OTAKI SEAT, MR J. THORN’S CANDIDATURE./* Per Press Association. WELLINGTON, April 1. Mr James Thorn, of Wellington, president of the New Zealand Labour Party, who has been selected as the official Labour candidate for the Otaki seat at the next general election, unsuccessfully contested the Christchurch South seat in 1905 and 1908, and the Palmerston seat in 1914. For several years, Mr Thorn has been secretary of the Wellington Labour Representation Committee, and has edited the New Zealand Worker for nearly a decade. PARNELL SEAT. REFORM”BALLOT. MR J. S. DICKSON’S OFFER. Per Press Association. AUCKLAND, April 2. Mr J. S. Dickson announces that he will submit himself to tho Reform ballot as a candidate for Parnell and abide by the decision. OFFICIAL LABOUR PARTY. Per Press Association. WELLINGTON, April 1. Although the official announcement will not be made until to-day, it is understood that the national executive of the New Zealand Labour Party has selected Mr T. Bloodworth, of Auckland, as the official Labour candidate for tho Parnell by-election.
