PAHIATUA.

(From Our Own Correspondent). PAHIATUA, Marcli 29. The annual meeting of tho Bush Ladies’ and Men's Hockey Association was held last evening, Mr W. A. Cittadini presiding over a record attendance of delegates. Tho report stated (inter alia) that with the amalgamation of the Ladies’ a.nd Men’s* Associations under one executive economy had been effected in both time and expense. The amalgamation had proved very successful, but had imposod onerous duties on the executive. Two tournaments were hold during tho year, one at Eketahuna and the other at Ilukanui, both producing good displays of hockey. liamua topped the ladies’ competition, and Hukanui ladies a close second. The’team sent to the-New Zealand tournament at Gisborne, although not very successful, gained a great deal of experience, the benefit of which would be shown during the coming year. Refcnees were difficult to obtain, this being due to the fact that most of the hockey enthusiasts were players. The following officers were elected: Patron, Mr J. Hose (re-elected); president, Mr T. F. Edge; secretary and treasurer, Mr L. W. Kitchen; committee, Messrs Cavamagh, Sheldon, Farrow, Payne, Finn, llose and Lett; vice-presid-ents, Messrs W. A. Cittadini, F. E. Ward, C. S. Cecil, G. A. Vincent, J. Galvin, A. J. Fairweather, T. Parsons, S. George and Dr Hugh Paterson; selectors, Messrs R. Payne, R. Cavanagh and R. Farrow; Mr F. IL Guineas was re-elected auditor. A motion to change the headquarters of the association from Pahiatua to Eketahuna was defeated by 16 votes to 11. It was decided to open the season with a sovenaeido and a five-aside tournament for the ladies and men at Pahiatua, on April 23rd. The championship competitions will open on Wednesday, April 30th, entries closing on April 16th. It was decided to form a Bush Hockey Referees’ Association.
