The annual sports ball was held on Wednesday evening in the hall and was patronised' by visitors from file surrounding districted A professional orchestra from Levin was engaged and rendered excellent music. The U.C.’b were Messrs O. Batchelar and G. Hampson. A competition for Mrs Mortensen s trophy was won by Mr H. Childs (Palmerston North). Among those present were Mtb Smith, in red beaded frock of crepe de chine; Mrs T. Lynch, pink chiffon velvet and lace; Mrs J. Lynch, cherry georgette and tulle: Mrs G. Merriman, black satin ana spotted net; Mrs C. Kennsrd, black velvet; Mrs A. Merriman, white georgette; Mrs Grady, apricot satin; Mrs Perry (Palmerston North),, black georgette ; Mrs Foster, black crepe de chine; Mrs J. L. Nash, black beaded georgette; Misses Batchelar, petunia crepe de chine with lace overdress; R. Simmons, mannequin blue silk lace; M. Kimnard, orange taffetas; M. Procter, jade greensilk lace; R. Procter, peach satin; BProcter, rod crepe de cnine; E. Procter, red crepe de chine; T. Brogden, lilac taffetas and net; M Foster, nile green crepe de chine; D. Craw, vieux rose frilled net; N. Greer, French blue crepe de chine with silver lace; E. Greer, lilac satin with spotted net overdress; C. Mills (Whakarongo), chenille velvet and georgetto;2; L. Irvine, jade green satin and silver lace; F. Currin, lime green taffetas and georgette; K. Williams (Tokomaru), shell-pink georgette.; Miss Jamieson, pink mariette; Misses D. Webb black georgette; M. Webb, mauve georgette; N. Kelly, salmon pink crepe de cnine; B. Currin, lemon silk lace; ,M. Jackeon, pale green crepe de chine with net overdress: A. Liggins, pink crepe de chine with black spotted tulle overdress; N. Schwass, lemon crepe de chine; A.. Schwass, black satin; L. .Moody, blue georgette: E. Hunt, rose pink crepe de chine and gold lace; E. Phillips (Palmerston North), black satin; J. Bree, blue crepe do chine; B. Seifert, blue crepe de chine and lace; C. Seifert, lemon satin and lace; E. Davies, pink georgette and several others. The chaperones were Mesdamos Irvine, Wilson, Hampson, S. Rix, Sutherland, Currin, Moody. Dancing was continued until the early hours of th* morning.
