DEATH FROM GUNSHOT.

Per Press Association. CHRISTCHURCH, Feb. 25. A single man named Arthur John Payne, aged 27, was found at his residence at Woolstpn on Monday afternoon suffering from a gunshot wound in the neck. He died to-day in hospital. Evidence was given at the inquest to the effect that Payne had been despondent of late. His health broke down six months ago. The Coroner found that death was due to a gunshot wound, self-inflicted while in a depressed state of health.
