A. AND P. ASSOCIATION.
MEETING OF COMMITTEE. The monthly meeting of the general committee of the Manawatu and West Coast Agricultural and Pastoral Association was held to-day. Mr J. Linklater, M.P., presided over a good attendance. The Auckland Metropolitan Agricultural and Pastoral Association advised that, at a meeting of the Northern affiliated associations of the Auckland Provincial Council, held at Whangarei, a vote of sympathy had been passed witji the Manawatu A. and P. Association in the loss of its treasurer, the late Mr J. M. Johnston, who had been associated with the show for many years. The Salvation Army forwarded a letter of appreciation of the donation of £5 made by the association. Mr L. D. Lovelock, town clerk of Pahiatua, wrote thanking the committee for the compensation allowed him as the result of his accident at the Spring Show. The Y.M.C.A. wrote conveying its thanks for the donation of £5 and stating that it had been pleased to assist the association at the Spring S1 On behalf of the Baptist Church Sunday School, Mr A. Hay (superintendent) forwarded thanks for the permission grflntGd to liold the children s picnic in the Showgrounds on AnniverBank of New Zealand advised that the minimum rate of interest on overdrafts had been increased by half per cent, from February 1. The rate of interest to be charged on the association’s overdraft in the meantime would therefore be seven per cent. The National Mortgage and Agency Company of New Zealand, Ltd., advised that it was again making a donation of fertiliser valued at £6 for the National Dairy Show in June.
